Wall Words Vol. 2 / why would anyone care what i have to say; get a fucking grip, 2019
Wall Words Side A and B is a two wall painted black and white installation piece. For this work, the walls make up the space of my workspace and are parallel to each other, engaging in a conversation. The goal for Wall Words Side A and B was to build off the ideas and processes that I began in the previously in Letra Set and expand deeper into the idea of surface and the relationships that can be made between them and typography. Similarly to Letra Set the words are distorted and in the perspective of a specific point. With the walls facing each other the idea was to represent the two competing voices that are always talking in my brain. One with my fears and doubts and the other with reassuring confidence. Putting this into a cubicle space in where work is always being created was the representation of being caught in the middle of these thoughts and often stuck. This work also begins to bring up themes of words and meaning and how they impact the work itself as well as future ones.
